MICHELIN Restaurants Marbella

estrella Michelin Marbella

Michelin stars in Marbella. The guide is popular for awarding one to three “stars of fine dining” to gastronomic establishments that, in reference to different parameters set by its own judges, stand out for the quality, creativity and care of their dishes.

There are currently 4 Michelin Star restaurants in Marbella. Let’s take a look at each one of them

“El Lago” Restaurant

In contrast to the summer hustle and bustle of Marbella, a visit to the El Lago restaurant in the Greenlife Golf clubhouse is a haven of peace in every sense of the word, as the harmonious surroundings and views of the large lake, especially from its wonderful summer terrace, are the ideal complement to a meal with a MICHELIN star.
In the kitchen, the Malaga-born chef Fernando Villasclaras is managing to continue the restaurant’s commitment to seasonal Andalusian cuisine, always based on local or Km 0 raw materials. The menu, with a specific and more informal option for lunch (Midi), enhances the organic background with the Sazón tasting menu, a term that refers to the optimum point of the products in terms of their perfection or maturity.

Skina Restaurant

The real gems are usually hidden in unique and somewhat hidden spaces, but… few have such a tiny one! We find ourselves in the narrow streets of Marbella’s old town, in a place with only four tables, whose small size is perfectly justified by Marcos Granda, its famous owner and sommelier: “Skina is big because of what it offers”.
The young chef from Toledo, Mario Cachinero, offers us a creative and sincere cuisine that seeks to evolve the traditional Andalusian recipe book and defines itself as “of harmonies and contrasts”; but based on an excellent treatment of the raw materials (wild Galician fish caught in a traditional way, premium oils from Jaén produced in mountain olive groves, exclusive meats…) to respect their flavour even more.

Messina Restaurant

Messina reflects the dream of chef Mauricio Giovanini, who went beyond his Argentinean roots to develop, together with his wife, sommelier and head waitress (Pía Ninci), his culinary non-conformism.
Behind the cooker, he seeks harmonies and the clarity of each flavour, always based on a cuisine that draws from European, Latin American and Mediterranean cuisine, with special attention to Lebanese recipes. Nuances that make him unique? The chef began to stand out when he realised that the flavour lies in the liquid part of the food, which is why the use of pure juices and their derivatives (concentrates, creams…) has marked his approach ever since; today, he continues to evolve this line of work, but also showing great interest in natural thickeners.

Nintai Restaurant

Marcos Granda’s latest venture! The renowned sommelier, an expert when it comes to shoring up sketches and creating teams, returned from Japan at the end of 2019, marvelling at its culture and its passion for raw materials, which opened his mind to such a project.
The restaurant, with its clean lines and large windows, has a large sushi bar (12 seats) where you can watch the “itamae” (the chef in front of the table) work, create and improvise, a small room where you are invited to have your first appetizers and several private rooms. Everything here is peaceful, the ideal place to enjoy an offer based on two tasting menus (Omakase and Nintai), of different lengths, which vary according to the best product of the day. They surprise with… one of the best sakes menus in Spain!
